Today we headed to the Catfish Plantation in Waxahachie, Texas.
Wondering why you are seeing ghosts? Well, this restaurant is known to be haunted!
A farmer named Anderson built this Gingerbread-Victorian style home in 1895. Later on the house was passed down to Mr. Anderson's daughter, Elizabeth. In the early 1920's, Elizabeth was found dead in the house, murdered by strangulation on her wedding day. Then, a decade later, during the Great Depression, a farmer named Will was residing in the house. Will also died inside of the home, due to unknown causes. Finally, in 1970, another resident named Caroline, died inside of the house at the age of 80, presumably from old age. These three deaths are belived to be the cause of the paranormal activity that still occurs today.
Can you find the ghost in the picture below?
Neither did we.
But they did have some old elevator music playing which included a Christmas song which was pretty creepy.
We started with deep fried everything...
Followed by catfish with home made french fries. At least my husband tried catfish for the first time. I am not a fish eater so I stuck with chicken fried steak.
For desert we had deep fried cinnamon ice cream. It was delicious!
In their waiting area they had a TV playing with their ghost stories which have run on ghost hunting shows along with two large binders full of stories from customers that have experienced ghosts during their visit to the plantation. It was pretty neat to look through.

I thought the cinnamon was an odd choice and prob would have preferred vanilla but I really like cinnamon ice cream so I went with it.
My husband's father was born just down the road from the CatFish Plantation in Waxahatchi & all his extended family still live there. Very cool place! We have eaten there - it is memorable!
I think the ghost is in that picture on the wall. {{Shivers}}.
